Last month, I decided to sign up for Sarah Arrow‘s 30-Day Business Blogging Challenge in support of my goal of daring greatly in 2016. Good idea, right? I thought so. But my 30-day blogging challenge was an epic fail – almost!
I say almost because even though I’d only written two posts by day six when I should have penned six, by the end of the 30 days I’d learned about so many valuable blogging tools and techniques from Sarah, I still consider my efforts highly successful.
Sarah Arrow of Sark EMedia is a phenomenal blogger and trainer. She’s come up a great plan to help bloggers like me, inexperienced but optimistic and committed, come up to speed with blogging within a short period of time.
While I completed most of the challenges Sarah provided, but not all, because some were business blog specific, I wasn’t able to keep up with the break-neck pace of writing a daily post and continue to eat, breath, and you know — live.
But that was my fault. You see, my downfall is that I’m a perfectionist, and I get hives thinking about posting anything incomplete or with errors. So I spend an inordinate amount of time reviewing, revising, and reviewing some more. And most of my posts are far more than 300 words. So expediting the process for me would have eventually lead to my committing the eight deadly sin – sloppiness.
Needless-to-say, I fell woefully behind, and never caught up. That’s the bad news. The good news is I continued to read Sarah’s daily e-mails and implement the tools and techniques to improve my abilities as a blogger and enhance my site.
As for those who successfully complete the 30-Day challenge with the 30 daily posts, and there certainly are, I think they should be heralded with Super Star Blogger Jedi status! And one thing for certain, anyone who finishes Sarah’s 30-day challenge will be a stronger, better equipped blogger, who will have learned numerous techniques to enhance their blog and their business. Thanks Sarah!
If you’re serious about blogging but haven’t mastered the art yet, you would benefit greatly from taking Sarah’s 30-Day Business Blogging Challenge. But be warned, it’s not for the faint of heart!
